The Security Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for managing security platforms such as proxies, firewalls, and load balancers to ensure secure and compliant operations. This role involves configuring security policies, troubleshooting security-related issues, and developing standardized processes to optimize security workflows. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support secure application integration within the organization’s Co-Lo, Azure, and legacy data centers, ensuring compliance with security standards. This position is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in security operations who thrives in a dynamic environment focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
• Support and configure Broadcom Cloud Secure Web Gateway, Content Analysis System, Proxy Secure Gateway, and Cloud Secure Web Gateway Reporting.
• Monitor proxy performance and escalate issues to the Proxy Team as needed.
• Implement policies for web access, content filtering, and data loss prevention.
• Configure and maintain firewall rules and policies using Check Point – MDS, VSX, and Maestro.
• Perform troubleshooting and log analysis to identify and resolve network security issues.
• Collaborate with the Firewall Team to ensure firewall policies align with organizational standards.
• Manage load balancing policies, monitor content switching, and create VIPs using Citrix Netscaler VPX.
• Troubleshoot load balancing issues to ensure seamless traffic distribution across servers.
• Assist in integrating load balancing for newly migrated applications and infrastructure.
• Partner with the Systems Platform Team to facilitate application migrations to Co-Lo and Azure data centers.
• Develop and document processes, workflows, and escalation procedures for cross-team tasks.
• Act as first-line troubleshooter for AD, Proxy, Firewall, and Load Balancing issues.
• Identify and implement best practices to optimize security and IT operations.
• Develop and maintain workflows, documentation, and automation to ensure consistent service delivery.
• Collaborate across teams to streamline operations, reduce inefficiencies, and improve response times.
• Utilize data-driven insights to enhance system performance and mitigate risks.
• Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning to adapt to evolving technologies and threats.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in security operations or systems integration.
• Hands-on experience managing security platforms such as proxies, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Strong knowledge of Broadcom Cloud Secure Web Gateway, Check Point firewalls (MDS, VSX, Maestro), and Citrix Netscaler VPX.
• Experience troubleshooting network security issues and managing security configurations.
• Proven ability to develop and document processes, workflows, and security policies.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, including Azure, and legacy data center operations.
• Ability to analyze data and leverage insights to improve system performance and security posture.
